Organizing the International Vespa Treffen Sittard Mai 2010

The “Godfather” and protector of “Amici del Bar” is the internationally famous Vespa legend Sjaak Janssens (80 years young). He has founded in 1954 the Vepa Club Sittard. They organized the 1st international Vespa meeting in May 1956. This took place in Sittard there were more than 600 participants. On the program were then: guided tours, gymkana, concours de elegance, etc. In 1964, the last Vespa meeting was held in Sittard. Since we miss such legendary scenes, now about 55 years later we want to revive the “old spirit” .The members of “Amici del Bar”, Sittard Vespa Club and the ladies of Donna della Vespa therefore joint hands. We provided a spectacular international Vespa event for you were every Vespa lover’s heart will beat faster for a few days (see program).

Concours d ‘elegance

Concours d ‘elegance took place in the 50′ and 60’s , it was normal that a Concours d ‘Elegance was held in a meeting. Since we want to revive the “old glory”, it will also take place during this Vespa meeting (see program). In a Concours d ‘Elegance competition the intention is that every Vespa club come’s in  their club uniform (jersey, vest, suit) presents themselves to other participants and the public. These clubs are all drivin the market place in SIttard, they then drive  on a stage to present themselves. Afterwards, a prize is awarded to the club with the best / most original presentation.

Gymkana

This Agility competition with a Vespa bike, a trail course will be established. A special prepared Gymkana Vespa bike is available , so “everyone” can show his driving skills.

At the end there is also a prize awarded to the driver with the fastest time and least penalty points.

If your club want to participate with in the Gymkana you have to register.

Each team shall submit to the foundation Vespa Treffen Sittard to indemnify for the damages.

For this purpose a written declaration to be signed by the registration:

By signing this Agreement, the driver(s) declare to agree that organization and officials of the event to the participants are not liable for any damages whatsoever, regarding participation in this event may arise.

The driver (s) declare that the foundation Vespa Treffen Sittard from harm and liability to themselves and others. They also declare that both the Vespa liability insurance and that the driver(s) have a valid license.

Vehicle Participation is only possible with a Vespa in good condition. The technical team will start a random testing on the  meeting day. If defects may arise then they lose the right to participate in the meeting.
